Business Mogul Inaugurates First Phase Of Solar Powered Streetlights In Ariaria Intl Market

 

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fenico Global Resources (Nig.) Ltd, Asika Chibuike, popularly known as Bishop, has inaugurated the first phase of his solar-powered streetlights project in Ariaria International Market, Aba.

According to the renowned business mogul and consummate philanthropist, the gesture, which he described as the first of its kind in the history of the popular market in Nigeria would cut across all the zones in the market.

The popular, amiable, ebullient, indefatigable, forthright and God-fearing traditional and native attires merchant, expressed gratitude to God for the successful inauguration of the first phase.

He said that the project is meant to light up the market, especially at night as a form of security measure,as well as, to complement the efforts of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, on security and ease of doing business in Abia markets.

He thanked the traders and others for turning out in their numbers for the inauguration of the first phase.

He disclosed that the project, which started from his FENICO HOUSE (FENICO Twin Mall) at F-Line 10 in front of the major road linking Free Zone to A-Line, as well as, at the back of it, would extend to all the nooks and crannies of the market.

Asked why he embarked on the project, the illustrious son of Amike Orlu in Imo State, said that he was driven by a sense of purpose and service to humanity, adding that by the grace of God, he wants to impact positively on his immediate environment where he does business and the society at large.

He expressed optimism that as he moves on, other things would come into play, stressing that the journey has just started, adding that he would continue with the entrance gates in the market Monday next week.

Meanwhile, the laudable project has continued to attract resounding kudos to Asika Chibuike, from the elated traders, security men in the market and others.

In his remarks, Sir Ufere Inyamah, the Ezeudo 1 of Arochukwu, described Asika Chibuike (aka Bishop) as a rare gem, man of the people and a silent philanthropist.

He expressed satisfaction with the initiative and gratitude for his uncommon gesture to them and encouraged others to emulate him, assuring him of their continued support, prayers and best wishes.

Similarly, Chukwudi Obichukwu popularly known as Iboko, described Asika Chibuike as a very nice man and a close friend.

He commended him for the giant stride, stressing that it was the beginning of so many good things to come in the market.

He pointed out that Asika Chibuike is a born giver and prayed God to grant him long life, good health and prosperity .

The chairman of G-Line Sub-Union, Ariaria International Market, Aba, Chinedu Onu, extolled Asika Chibuike for installing solar-powered streetlights in the market stressing that the benefits are enormous.

He urged him not to relent in his determination to extend it to every nook and cranny of the market,adding that the gesture, which is coming on the heels of the present administration of Dr. Alex Otti, is a clear indication that light has come into the state at last, because they had long awaited eagerly for the right person to come and govern Abia State.

Continuing, he said now that the people have seen that the right person has assumed the leadership of Abia State they have began to demonstrate their love and support in so many ways just like what Asika Chibuike has done.

He wished him well and prayed God to reward him more abundantly.

Speaking also, Jecinta Esinulo expressed satisfaction with the streetlights provided in the market by Asika Chibuike.

She commended him for the uncommon gesture describing him as a man of the people and lover of good things.

She prayed God to continue to bless him more abundantly in all his endeavours.

The Chief Task Force Officer, F-Line, Ariaria International Market, Aba, Chinedu Nguzoro Lazarus also corroborated what other traders said concerning the provision of streetlights in the market by Asika Chibuike.

He expressed happiness for what he has done for them and encouraged others to emulate him.

In his response, the Manager of Fenico Global Resources (Nig.) Ltd, Daniel Anaelechi Benson (aka Santos Fabrics) lauded his boss, Asika Chibuike for the rare gesture describing him as a man of the people and silent achiever.

He expressed satisfaction with the deluge of kudos that has continued to come his way because of it adding that the light would make the market lively as well as ensure a safe and secure environment, especially at night.

He prayed God to grant him long life, good health, prosperity and protection from the eyes of the wicked.

At the end, Asika Chibuike showered encomiums on the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti who he described as God-send, a man of the people and his inimitable role model.

He disclosed that he had been part and parcel of his political ambition from Day One till date.

He congratulated him on his resounding victory in the 2023 election adding that he really wants to contribute his own quota in the transformation of Abia State under his able leadership.

Hear him: “What I am seeing before me today is a hope for Abia State”.

For instance, never in the history of Abia State have I seen or heard of multiple and reputable construction companies brought into the state at the same time to embark on road construction and rehabilitation.

They have started work, especially in Aba and Umuahia. It is not a fairy tale.

If you are driving from MCC junction, Aba to Ariaria Market, it is not how it used to be before. They are serious.

Again, there used to be multiple taxation in this market, nay, Abia State in the past.

Somebody would just wake up one morning and go to the government and tell them that he wanted to collect one kind of levy or another and they would ask him if he can make it and if he said ‘yes’, they would tell him to pay so, so and so amount and the person pays and begins to harass and dehumanize the people.

At the end of the day, you would notice that the people would come to the market smiling and go back home crying or frowning.

But since, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) assumed office, nobody in this market has been levied a dime. All that they have been doing is restructuring and re-planning because without restructuring and re-planning there would be no better tomorrow.

Let me use this opportunity to also appeal to the People’s Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti to come to our rescue in terms of the deplorable Port Harcourt Road, Aba and Aba-Ikot Ekpene Road.

Both strategic roads are of vital importance to the traders in Aba because they affect our means of livelihood to a very large extent.

Seventy five percent of our customers come from Rivers State and if that road closes, our stomach would close by seventy percent or three-quarter and if that road is good our stomach would be open.

It does not make sense that someone would dress up from his house and come to the market and stay from morning till night without selling anything.

Dr. Alex Otti is doing so well and we appeal to him as a matter of urgent public importance to come to our rescue.

I know that it is a federal road but the state government at least can fill the pot-holes so that it can be accessible as well as Aba-Ikot Ekpene Road.

I believe if the government can fix the two roads for us Ariaria and other markets in Aba would do wonders.

Another thing is the roads within Ariaria International Market. They are dilapidated.

I know the present administration of the state is planning what to do about it.

So we thank God for the emergence of Dr. Alex Otti. I call on the traders of Ariaria International Market, Aba and the entire Abians to exercise patience with Dr. Alex Otti’s administration.

Rome was not built in a day. There is no way Dr. Alex Otti would perform magic.

It is easy to demolish anything but it takes time to rebuild it.

Rebuilding is a gradual process and it calls for patience.

So I urge every trader in the market, civil servants, industrialists or whoever to be patient because I believe the captain of our ship would take us to the Promised Land
