APC Releases Campaign Council, Appoints Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu Deputy DG (South) II
The All Progressives Congress (APC), has appointed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, as Deputy Director-General (South) II of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The campaign council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Kalu’s appointment places him among the party’s key figures expected to drive its presidential campaign in the southern part of the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development is expected to boost the APC’s campaign efforts in the South, given Kalu’s position as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and his political influence in Abia State and beyond.
The inauguration of the campaign council will formally set the stage for the party’s mobilisation and campaign activities in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
