2027: We’ll Embark on Door-to-Door Campaign in Ohafia to Secure Tinubu’s Re-election — Sam Anya
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Abia State, Chief Dr. Sam Anya, popularly known by his traditional title, Akaekpuchionwa, has vowed to lead a door-to-door campaign across the Ohafia Local Government Area, to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Anya made the declaration while speaking with journalists at the APC Secretariat in Umuahia during activities marking the birthday of the party’s state chairman, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu.
The APC chieftain said President Tinubu deserves a second term, stressing that the administration had done enough to earn the support and confidence of Nigerians.
According to him, he is determined to ensure that the President records a strong performance in his area in the 2027 election.
Anya also called for unity and reconciliation among APC members in Abia State, saying the party must put aside internal grievances and work together to achieve victory in the forthcoming elections.
He said the reconciliation effort was necessary to bring aggrieved members back together and enable the party to speak with one voice.
“Today we are celebrating the party chairman’s birthday and also celebrating the union and settlement of people that have grievances in the party, for the party to work in one direction for 2027,” he said.
The APC chieftain said the party should work towards winning all elective positions in the state, including the Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats.
In a major show of support for President Tinubu, Anya announced the donation of a duplex facility with adjoining space in Ohafia to serve as a campaign office for the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He explained that the facility would provide a base for grassroots mobilisation and door-to-door campaigns in Ohafia, Abia North and Uturu.
Anya said the initiative was aimed at taking the message of the Tinubu administration directly to the people and mobilising support for the President’s re-election.
According to him, the President needs to be re-elected because his policies have opened up significant economic opportunities for the state. He noted that Abia previously received between ₦3 billion and ₦4 billion monthly as federal allocation, but under the current administration, the state now receives between ₦25 billion and ₦30 billion monthly.
He said the increased revenue has created room for greater development and expressed optimism that the progress could be sustained if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is re-elected. He added that, in the past, one of the major challenges facing states was the inability to pay workers’ salaries, but noted that such difficulties are now largely a thing of the past.
The APC chieftain further commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and APC leader in Abia State, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for his support for President Tinubu and his contributions to the growth of the party in the state.
He particularly praised Kalu’s empowerment initiatives and efforts to mobilise APC members in support of the President.
Anya urged party members to acknowledge and appreciate the Deputy Speaker’s efforts, while also expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for entrusting Kalu with the leadership of the APC in Abia State.
He maintained that with unity, reconciliation and sustained grassroots mobilisation, the APC would be well positioned to secure victory across Abia State in the 2027 general elections.
