Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, on Sunday presented the Labour Party flag to Dr. Chima Anyaso, the party’s candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the January 16 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The presentation took place at the Umuahia Township Stadium, during the Official Flagg-off of Campaign of the Party attended by the national and state leadership of the Labour Party, members of the National Assembly, state lawmakers, members of the Abia State Executive Council and other party faithful.
Presenting the flag, Governor Otti called on the people of Bende and other eligible voters to support the Labour Party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.
“Make sure you vote for all the Labour Party candidates. I am handing over this flag to Dr. Chima Anyaso (OFUJI), and I am doing that in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,” the Governor stated.
Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving the party flag, Dr. Anyaso described the presentation as a significant milestone in his quest to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He said the formal presentation would be followed by engagements across the constituency’s local government areas, 13 wards and 214 polling units to communicate his agenda to the electorate.
“Having received this flag today, we are going to visit the local government areas, the 13 wards of Bende and the 214 polling units to give our people a message of hope,” he said.
Dr. Anyaso also noted that his campaign had maintained a presence across the constituency before the formal flag presentation, adding that the signs are clear that the people of Bende wants OFUJI.
The presentation of the flag formally marked a new phase in Dr. Chima Anyaso’s campaign activities as the party prepares for the January 16 elections.
