As Abia State marks the 35th anniversary of its creation, the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has congratulated Governor Alex Otti and the people of Abia State, describing the transformation witnessed across the state under the present administration as a major milestone in the history of Abia.

Dr. Anyaso said the 35th anniversary provides an opportunity for Abians to reflect on the journey of the state while also celebrating what he described as the renewed development and sense of direction being experienced under Governor Otti.
According to him, the pace and scale of infrastructure development across the state in the last three years and three months have significantly changed the physical landscape of Abia and restored confidence among residents.

He said Governor Otti’s administration had demonstrated that Abia could compete favourably with other states in terms of infrastructure, urban renewal and government-led development, adding that the state was gradually assuming a leading position among Nigeria’s states.

“Abia at 35 is a state with a renewed sense of direction and purpose. We have witnessed remarkable projects across the state, and these developments are changing the narrative about Abia.

“Governor Alex Otti deserves commendation for the vision and determination with which his administration has approached the development of the state. The projects we are seeing today demonstrate that Abia has the potential to become one of the leading states in Nigeria”, Anyaso said.

The Labour Party candidate particularly commended the Governor for projects completed and ongoing in Bende Local Government Area, describing the developments as evidence that the administration is paying attention to communities outside the state capital.

Dr. Anyaso said the road projects and other interventions in Bende had brought visible changes to several communities and created great optimism among residents.

He noted that the impact of government projects would be better appreciated when they translate into easier movement of people and goods, improved economic activities and greater opportunities for residents.

“For us in Bende, we are particularly grateful for the projects that have been completed and those that are ongoing. Our people can see the difference, and we appreciate the attention the Governor has given to our communities.

“Development should not be concentrated in one part of the state. When rural communities and local government areas receive attention, the benefits spread across the economy and improve the quality of life of ordinary people,” he stated.

Dr. Anyaso further said the projects being executed across Bende had strengthened the confidence of many residents in the Labour Party-led administration.

He expressed optimism that the party would consolidate on its political strength in the area and work towards securing victory in all elective positions in Bende in the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the performance of any government should ultimately be judged by its impact on the lives of the people, adding that visible development would naturally influence the political choices of citizens.

“The Labour Party is set and ready for 2027. The people of Bende are watching what is happening, and they can distinguish between promises and actual development.
“We will continue to engage our people, listen to their concerns and present our message of development, inclusion and accountable leadership. We are confident that the people will make the right choice when the time comes,” he said.

The Bende Federal Constituency candidate also extended his congratulations to Abians living in different parts of Nigeria and across the world, urging them to remain committed to the progress and development of the state.

He called on Abians to use the 35th anniversary to celebrate the resilience, enterprise and contributions of the people to the growth of the state.

Dr. Anyaso said the anniversary should also serve as a reminder that the future of Abia depends on the collective efforts of government, communities, private sector players, political leaders and ordinary citizens.

He wished Governor Otti, members of the State Executive Council, the Abia State House of Assembly and the entire people of Abia State a memorable 35th anniversary celebration.

“Abia at 35 is a celebration of our journey, our resilience and our future. We have every reason to be hopeful because the state is witnessing important developments.

“I congratulate Governor Alex Otti and all Abians on this important milestone. May the years ahead bring greater development, prosperity, peace and opportunities for our people,” Dr. Anyaso added.
