Opah Applauds Henry Ikoh For Hosting Harmony Meeting, Urged Other APC Leaders To Emulate
The 2027 Abia State APC Governorship Candidate, Chief Eric Opah, has commended Chief Henry Ikoh for hosting the recent Harmony Meeting aimed at promoting reconciliation, unity and healing of the internal rifts among aspirants, members and stakeholders of the party.
Chief Opah described the initiative as a demonstration of true sportsmanship and exemplary leadership, noting that the collective victory and progress of the APC should remain far above individual political ambitions.
According to him, Chief Ikoh has demonstrated the spirit of a true sportsman and a leader worthy of emulation, particularly at a time when the party needs unity and collective commitment ahead of the 2027 elections.
Chief Opah stressed that the victory of the party should remain the paramount interest of every APC leader and member, warning that actions capable of undermining the party’s candidates could have serious consequences on the party.
He recalled that anti-party activities and internal divisions had contributed to the collapse of some once powerful political parties in the country, adding that such actions had often left those involved with regrets.
Chief Opah frowned at what he described as a growing trend where some political leaders find it convenient to openly work against candidates of their own party because of personal interests.
He urged political leaders and members who intend to support candidates across different political parties based on personal preferences to reconsider such actions. He stressed that experience has shown that such an approach rarely produces the desired outcome.
Chief Opah noted that voters, in many instances, identify with political parties through their symbols on election day, rather than voting solely based on the names of individual candidates.
He therefore called on APC leaders, stakeholders and members to close ranks, support the party’s candidates and work collectively towards securing victory for the party across all elective positions in the 2027 elections.
Chief Opah described Chief Henry Ikoh as a great leader and a committed party man. He expressed his desire to work closely with him and other stakeholders to ensure that Abia State is effectively connected to the centre through the election of APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 general election.
He also called on other well meaning APC leaders to emulate Chief Ikoh’s example by coming out boldly to stand for their party and work towards its success.
Chief Opah also stated that the Federal Government under the APC led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made resources available to enable states to function more effectively. He expressed confidence that an APC government in Abia would perform better and deliver greater development to the people.
Chief Opah observed the current elected offices occupied by APC leaders and representatives at the federal level demonstrate the party’s capacity to attract federal presence, resources and opportunities to Abia State.
He maintained that the election of an APC government in Abia would create a stronger working relationship between the State and the Federal Government, thereby providing the state with greater opportunities for development.
Chief Opah reiterated his commitment to building a united APC in Abia. He maintained that the party’s collective interest must take precedence over individual ambitions.
He called on all aspirants, leaders, stakeholders and members to embrace reconciliation, unity and teamwork, saying that a united APC remains better positioned to win the 2027 elections and provide Abians with the government they deserve.
