Emeka Atuma Thanks APC Stakeholders, Members for Support After Abia Central Senatorial Primary Victory
The All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate for the Abia Central Senatorial District, Hon. Emeka Atuma, has expressed profound appreciation to party stakeholders, and members for electing him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 senatorial election.
Speaking in a thank you meeting held at his campaign office in Umuahia today, Atuma appreciated members of the APC across Abia Central district, for finding him worthy of carrying the party’s ticket, assuring them that he would work tirelessly to secure victory for the party in the general election.
“I thank you all for finding me worthy to have the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for Abia Central Senate”, he said.
The APC senatorial candidate described the party’s ticket as a strong platform capable of delivering victory, expressing confidence that the APC would make significant political gains in Abia Central.
According to him, the party is united and determined to ensure success at the polls, stressing that the APC would operate an inclusive system that accommodates every member regardless of their role during the primary election.
Drawing an analogy from the biblical parable of the workers in the vineyard, Atuma said every member would be treated equally, whether they supported his aspiration or not.
“We have decided that it is one person that will go. We will not push away our brothers”, he stated, calling on all party faithful to remain united for the task ahead.
He commended grassroots members for their commitment to the party, describing them as the backbone of the APC’s growing strength across the senatorial district.
Atuma also expressed gratitude to the party leadership for conducting a successful primary and reaffirmed his readiness to lead the APC’s campaign in the district, maintaining that the party was fully prepared for the 2027 election, expressing confidence that it possesses the capacity to compete effectively and secure victory.
“We are standing on the rock to go and win this election. We came prepared. We can match the government in any capacity, campaign for campaign”, he said.
The APC candidate further urged party members to remain united and committed as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious in Abia Central Senatorial District, thereby creating a government for APC in Abia Central District.
Also, the APC candidate for Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency, Chief Uzoma Ihuka, urged the people of the South-East to align with national politics, warning against repeating past political mistakes that, according to him, have hindered the region’s development.
Ihuka said the South-East must reposition itself politically to avoid remaining on the sidelines for another four years.
He stressed that the region should seize the opportunity to become an active participant in national politics rather than staying in opposition and lamenting missed opportunities.
Goodwill messages were delivered by several party leaders and stakeholders, including Ike Anyatonwu, who spoke on behalf of Isialangwa North and South, Nnamdi Amala Nwosu, representing Osisioma, Chuks B. Oriaku, and Prince Tony Eze, who spoke for Ikwuano/Umuahia.
Also speaking, Tony Otuonye called for inclusive politics within the APC, urging members to shun double standards and remain united behind the party’s strategies.
He noted that the party had already outlined a clear roadmap for success and encouraged members to follow the agreed template uniformly to achieve victory in future elections.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Emeka Atuma Campaign Organization, Hon. Chidi Nwosu, expressed gratitude to party members for electing Hon. Emeka Atuma as the APC candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District.
He said the overwhelming support demonstrated by party faithful would translate into electoral victory in the 2027 general election.
Among dignitaries present at the thank-you meeting were the APC Abia Central Zonal Chairman, Prince Anthony Okeh, the APC State Publicity Secretary, High Chief Uche Aguoru, members of the APC State Working Committee, former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Eugene Eze Job, and other party leaders and supporters.
