Reaction Trail Abia LG Election, As Candidate Calls For Cancellation Of Exercise
The Obingwa Chairmanship candidate for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA),Chief Victor Omenihu, has called for the cancellation of the Local Government election in Obingwa.
Speaking with the media in his country home, Chief Omenihu cited ballot box snatching and other malpractices as reasons for the cancellation.
According to him, the exercise characterized series of problems from one polling units to another, with ballot box snatches. He said in wards 7,1,6,4 and some parts of wards 3,9 and 11, there were horrible reports of electoral malpractices.
“The crisis is much, the election was not peaceful, we are calling for it to be cancelled. We are surprised that the Zenith Labour Party of yesterday, is responsible for these unruly acts”.
Meanwhile, Chief Victor Omenihu said he had stepped into the race to render service to his people,which they have been clamouring.
Recall, that the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) has issued certificates of return to winners of the last saturday’s election.
