The President of the Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (UCCIMA), Dr. Mrs. Catherine Chika Igbokwe, has felicitated with fathers on the occasion of the 2026 International Fathers’ Day celebration, commending their invaluable contributions to family stability, societal development, and nation-building.

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Dr. Igbokwe described fathers as pillars of strength, discipline, and guidance whose sacrifices and commitment continue to shape the future of families and communities.

She noted that fathers play a critical role in nurturing responsible children, promoting moral values, and providing leadership within the home and society.

According to her, the celebration of Fathers’ Day offers an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the dedication, resilience, and selfless service of fathers who work tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of their families despite prevailing economic and social challenges.

Dr. Igbokwe urged fathers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities and continue to uphold the virtues of integrity, hard work, love, and accountability, stressing that strong families are the foundation of a prosperous society.

The UCCIMA President also encouraged fathers in the business community to continue mentoring the younger generation, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing to the economic growth of Abia State and Nigeria at large.

She prayed for God’s continued protection, wisdom, good health, and prosperity upon all fathers and wished them a memorable and fulfilling International Fathers’ Day celebration.

“On behalf of the leadership and members of UCCIMA, I congratulate all fathers on this special occasion and celebrate their immense sacrifices and contributions to the development of our families, communities, and nation”, she stated.
