Former Abia State Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON), and Obingwa Local Government Chairman, Hon Ibe Michael Nwoke (Abu Dhabi), has declared intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency.

He formally disclosed his ambition, expressing his will to represent his people at the federal level, seeking for the support of his people.

Speaking at a ward meeting in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Nwoke emphasized the importance of participation, noting that the strength of the party lies in how involved every member is at the grassroots, urging them not to be passive observers but active contributors.

He called for stronger grassroots engagement within the Labour Party, urging members of Ward 7 to become more active as preparations for 2027 elections gather momentum.

Nwoke also stressed the need for comprehensive party registration, stating that everyone must ensure they are properly registered at all levels of the party structure, its key to building a formidable and organized political force.

He further congratulated the new executives that emerged from the recently concluded ward congress, charging them with the responsibility to service, stating that they should give their best as the elections draw closer.

Reaffirming loyalty to the state government, Nwoke expressed support to the Governor Alex Otti’s led administration, which he described as people-oriented. “We stand firmly behind Governor Alex Otti and his administration. The progress being made must be sustained with our collective support”, he said.

He, however, called for renewed commitment among members to strengthen the party’s structure and mobilize support ahead of upcoming political activities.
