Abia NULGE Names Chima Anyaso ‘Ambassador’, As He Prepare’s to chair Union’s 2026 Week

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Abia State Council, has invited the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, to serve as Chairman on the Occasion and NULGE Ambassador at the union’s 2026 NULGE Week celebration coming up in November.

 

 

The invitation was conveyed when the leadership of NULGE Abia State, led by the State President, Lady Comrade Linda Ihuoma Unaeze, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Anyaso on Tuesday in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

 

In the formal invitation letter dated August 16, 2026, the union said the decision was informed by its appreciation of Anyaso’s leadership qualities, track record and commitment to the welfare of the masses.

 

The letter, signed by the State President and the State Secretary, Comrade Okoro Andrew, noted that NULGE had followed with keen interest Anyaso’s aspiration to represent the people at the House of Representatives, expressing confidence that his presence and guidance would add value and dignity to the programme.

 

The 2026 NULGE Week, according to the union, is designed to promote the welfare of local government workers, foster unity and encourage community service.

Activities listed for the celebration include a massive rally in support of the re-election of Governor Alex Otti, a football tournament for local government workers, a visitation programme for workers who are critically sick and bedridden, and the grand finale scheduled for November 25, 2026, at the Ubakala Central School Mini-Stadium, Umuahia.

 

NULGE further stated that Anyaso’s acceptance to serve as Chairman of the Occasion would inspire and encourage its members across the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State, while also providing an opportunity to project his commitment to workers’ welfare.

 

In his response, Dr Anyaso appreciated them for the continued support to the administration of Governor Alex Otti and called on every NULGE member in the state to support the Labour Party which he said meant well for the Abia Workers.

He said in Bende, he was confidence that with the overwhelming support of the people, he will emerge victorious come 2027.
