“My Strategy to Unseat Abia South Senatorial Incumbent is In 1 Samuel 17″- Erondu

Shortly after being declared as the All Progressive Congress (APC), flag bearer for the 2027 Abia South Senatorial election, Hon Erondu Uchenna Erondu, has disclosed that his political strategy for defeating the incumbent senator is in the biblical story of 1 Samuel 17, the chapter that narrates the victory of David over Goliath.

Speaking to journalists at the State Party Secretariat in Umuahia, Hon Erondu expressed gratitude to God and party faithful for the successful exercise, describing the contest as free, fair and peaceful.

He said he was elated and honoured by the victory, describing the process as a difficult contest. “It wasn’t an easy one competing with my elders”, he stated.

According to him, the primary election was a huge success and should not be seen as a battle where anyone lost.

The Obingwa West State Constituency Lawmaker revealed that nobody was defeated in the contest, adding that only a winner emerged.

While hinting at the strategy behind his victory, the lawmaker referenced the biblical account of David and Goliath.

“If you read 1 Samuel 17, you will see and understand my strategy for the forth coming general election”, he added.

Hon. Erondu further commended the conduct of the exercise, describing it as one of the freest and fairest political contests ever held in the state.

He explained that the party adopted the direct primary system, which allowed members across wards in the senatorial zone to openly queue behind their preferred aspirants.

“The party adopted the direct primaries where you queue behind your leader. The election was conducted across the various wards in the senatorial zone. The people came out en masse and voted”, he noted.
