February Polls: Don’t Sell Your PVC- Abarikwu Tells Electorates In Umuokei Community
The All Progressives Grand Alliance?(APGA), candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the February 25th polls, Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu, has told the people of Umuokei Community in Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, not to sell their Permanent Voter Cards(PVCs), but use them to effect the desired change in the forth coming election.
In an interface with the people of the area, the Federal House of Representatives candidate, called on the people to reject in its entirety, leaders that have disappointed them in the past and vote in credible and accountable persons that would advance their lot.
According to him, Abia belongs to everyone and not a few set, stressing therefore, that the decision of who rules on the affairs of the citizens, should be collectively decided.
He said the Federal government has helped in sanitizing the electoral system through its establishment of the “Electoral Act”, adding that it behoves on the electorates to exercise their right by voting in right candidates.
“God has also given us the power to choose our leaders. Please do not toy with the opportunity.Dont sell your PVCs”, he pleads.
Abarikwu who lamented the level of developmental decadence in the state, said 2023 is the time to change the trajectory of Abia, calling on all and sundry to vote all APGA candidates, including the Governorship candidate,Prof Greg Ibe, the Abia Central Senatorial candidate,Chief Ahamdi Nweke, and others, for quality and efficient delivery.
He promised to bring on board, credibility, accountability, transparency, capacity and integrity, which he noted have been lacking among incumbent leaders in the state.
Earlier, the Director General of Ogbonna Abarikwu Campaign Council, Mr Anamelechi Osondu, while appreciating the people for coming out in their numbers to welcome them, assured the people of a robust representation, stating that the party carefully elected candidates that can deliver on democratic dividends.
Also, the Director General of Ahamdi Nweke Campaign Council, Mr Chinagorom Okiyi, spoke extensively on the candidacy of Chief Nweke and other APGA candidates, assuring the people that they would not disappoint them when elected, calling for their massive support.
Responding on behalf of the Community,
the Traditional Prime Minister of Umuokei Community, Chief Eze Okebugwu, promised to mobilize the community to deliver bloc votes to all the candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
