World Teachers’ Day: Anyaso Honours Bende Teachers, Sponsors Their Mobility to Umuahia for Celebration
The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr Chima Anyaso, has joined teachers across the world in celebrating the invaluable contributions of teachers to the development of society, while facilitating the mobility of teachers from Bende to Umuahia to participate in the 2026 World Teachers’ Day celebration.
The celebration, organised by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Abia State Wing, was held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Event Center Isi Gate, Umuahia, under the theme: “Standing With Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, Advancing its Status and Shaping our Futures.”
Dr Chima Anyaso, in identifying with teachers from Bende Federal Constituency, ensured that teachers within the constituency were able to travel to Umuahia to participate in the annual celebration, describing their contribution to education and human capital development as indispensable to the progress of the nation.
The gesture, according to Dr Anyaso , reflects his commitment to supporting teachers and recognising the sacrifices they make in educating and shaping future generations.
The World Teachers’ Day celebration had the Executive Governor of Abia State, Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi, served as Chairman of the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chima Anyaso congratulated teachers across Bende and Abia State, noting that their dedication, resilience and commitment continue to provide the foundation upon which the future of the society is built.
He reaffirmed his appreciation for the teaching profession and pledged to continue identifying with initiatives that promote the welfare, dignity and professional development of teachers.
