Nkem Uba Ebilah Distributes 10,000 Exercise Books, Donates Rice and Solar Lights in Ikwuano
Residents and students in Oboro Ward 2 of Ikwuano Local Government Area have applauded Nkem Uba Ebilah following the distribution of 10,000 customised exercise books to pupils and students across 17 government and private schools in the area.
The distribution exercise, which commenced on May 11, 2026, covered students from Nursery 2 to Senior Secondary School 3, while teachers in the benefiting schools also received learning materials and bags of foreign rice.
Speaking during the exercise, Rt. Hon. Ebilah commended the level of academic excellence displayed by pupils and students in the schools visited, describing education as a vital tool for societal development.
In addition to the educational support, the councillor donated bags of rice to students of the Faculty of Law, Abia State University Extension, Umudike, especially those residing in male and female hostels.
He also facilitated the installation of solar street lights approved by Alex Otti to illuminate areas around the university gates, hostels and reading halls, including sections of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.
The students and residents reportedly expressed appreciation for the gestures, pledging continued support for the administration of Governor Otti.
They described Rt. Hon. Ebilah as a committed grassroots leader whose performance reflects the governor’s development-driven leadership style.
During his interaction with the students, Rt. Hon. Ebilah urged them to remain focused on their studies and emulate the values of hard work and education exemplified by Governor Otti. He also encouraged eligible senior secondary school students to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of future elections.
The councillor further prayed for the students, expressing hope that many of them would grow to occupy important leadership positions in the state and country.
Rt. Hon. Ebilah used the occasion to appreciate Governor Otti for the opportunity to serve under his administration. He also thanked members of his team and constituents for their continued support, while commending the management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and the Faculty of Law, ABSU Extension, Umudike, for their cooperation.
