The Senate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Ụmụdike, has elected the current Dean, College of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, CNREM, Prof. Princewill Chukwudi Ogbonna, as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Development.
Professor Ogbonna emerged victorious at the 261 Regular Senate Meeting held on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
His appointment, subject to ratification by the University Governing Council, is for a tenure of two (2) years.
Prof. Ogbonna, is an alumnus of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and has served the University in several key capacities, including Acting Director, Directorate of University Advancement; Acting Head of Environmental Management and Toxicology and Dean, College of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, CNREM, among others.
