Benjamin Kalu Never Endorsed Alex Otti for Second Term — Abia APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Abia State has dismissed as false and misleading reports alleging that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.
In a statement issued by the Abia APC Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the party described the reports being circulated by what it called Governor Otti’s media team as “misleading, malicious, and deceptive propaganda”.
The party stated that at no point, either publicly or privately, did the Deputy Speaker endorse Governor Otti for re-election ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
According to the statement, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu remains “a loyal, committed, and dedicated party man” and continues to serve as the undisputed leader of the APC in Abia State.
The APC further maintained that the Deputy Speaker is fully committed to ensuring that the party wins all elective positions in the state and takes over the Government House in Umuahia by May 29, 2027.
The statement added that Kalu’s resolve to see the Labour Party administration voted out of office remains “strong, consistent, and unwavering,” citing what the party described as mismanagement across critical sectors of governance in the state.
The party also called on residents of Abia State to remain united and steadfast in their support for the APC, insisting that the party remains committed to providing a credible alternative and a better future for the people of the state.
The statement was signed by Uche Aguoru, Publicity Secretary of APC Abia State.
