Aguocha Expresses Gratitude To Ikwuano/Umuahia Constituents, Optimistic of 2027 Victory
The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has expressed gratitude to the people of his constituency and the Labour Party for affirming him as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election through an unopposed primary election.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Aguocha described his emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the people based on his performance in office, his character, and the growing popularity of the Labour Party in Abia State.
The lawmaker noted that the primary election for the five wards in Ohuhu, produced Governor Alex Otti, for Governor, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, for Abia Central Senatorial district and Hon Anderson Akaliro for Umuahia North State Constituency, alongside other Labour Party candidates across the 184 wards of the State. He expressed confidence that the party would record victory in the forthcoming general elections.

“I feel great and happy that the people elected me and still affirmed me to return to the Federal House unopposed. It is a testament to what we have done, our character, and the significance of the Labour Party in Abia State”, Aguocha said.
He thanked his constituents for turning out in large numbers to participate in the primary election and commended the returning officer for conducting a transparent and credible exercise.
Aguocha expressed optimism that the Labour Party would retain its stronghold in the state during the 2027 elections, citing the achievements of the Governor and other Labour party leaders as evidence of its commitment to good governance.
“We are confident that we will win and are prepared to retain our seats. We are very optimistic that we will emerge victorious in the 2027 elections. The work we have done is proof of our commitment to the people”, he stated.
The federal lawmaker further assured constituents that he and other Labour Party office holders would remain focused on serving the people of Abia State at both the state and national levels.

According to him, ongoing projects and programmes that are yet to be completed would be accelerated, while all promises made to the people would be fulfilled.
“We are not shifting our priorities, which is to serve the people of Abia State. The things we have not completed, we will accelerate efforts to ensure they are completed. We will fulfil all the promises we made to Abians”, he added.
He also called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 general elections.

Aguocha, however, urged supporters and residents of the state to come out en masse on the election day and exercise their democratic rights to ensure the Labour Party secures victory across all elective positions.
