Abia PDP Congratulates Okezie Ikpeazu on Appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated former Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued by the State Chairman of the party, Abraham Amah, the party described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that Ikpeazu’s experience in governance and commitment to public service make him a suitable representative of Nigeria on the international stage.
The Abia PDP commended President Tinubu for recognizing what it described as Ikpeazu’s leadership qualities and wealth of experience, stating that the appointment reflects the former governor’s contributions to national development.
According to the party, Ikpeazu demonstrated visionary leadership during his tenure as governor of Abia State, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development and policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
The party expressed confidence that the former governor would bring the same dedication, integrity, and professionalism that characterized his administration to his new diplomatic assignment in Spain.
It further noted that his appointment would help strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Spain while promoting Nigeria’s interests abroad.
The Abia PDP also pledged its support to Ikpeazu as he begins what it described as another important chapter of service to the country.
The statement added that his appointment should serve as an inspiration to political leaders across the country to continue to place national interest, patriotism, and service above partisan considerations.
