Abia APC Passes Vote of Confidence on Benjamin Kalu Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed a resounding vote of confidence in the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, reaffirming him as the undisputed leader of the party in the state.
In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, on behalf of the state leadership and members, the APC expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support during the Abia APC Congress, which ushered in what the party described as a “formidable leadership” in the state.
The party also commended the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for his role in ensuring a peaceful and successful conduct of the congress.
According to the statement, the party acknowledged the contributions and sacrifices of its leaders and stakeholders across the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State, noting that their efforts have strengthened unity and cohesion within the party.
Reaffirming its position, the Abia APC declared that Benjamin Kalu remains the duly recognized and undisputed leader of the party in the state, warning that any individual or group claiming otherwise does so at their own risk.
The party further stressed its resolve to resist any attempt to create division or parallel leadership structures, regardless of how influential those involved may be.
Describing Kalu as the rallying point of the APC in Abia, the party expressed confidence in his leadership capacity and commitment to lead the party to victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
