Abia APC Governorship Candidate, Eric Opah Felicitates Abians On Democracy Day
The Abia State APC governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah has felicitated with the people of Abia State and Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.
In a message marking the June 12 anniversary, Opah described the date as a symbol of Nigeria’s collective struggle for democratic governance, freedom, justice, and the right of citizens to determine their future through the ballot.
He noted that Democracy Day provides an opportunity to honour the sacrifices of democratic heroes and to reflect on the progress Nigeria has made since the return to democratic rule.
Chief Opah stated that no challenge is insurmountable under the right democratic leadership.
According to him, challenges require renewed commitment from both leaders and citizens to strengthen democratic institutions and promote accountability, transparency, and inclusiveness in governance.
Opah urged Abians to remain committed to democratic ideals and to continue participating actively in the democratic process. He stressed that the future of both Abia State and Nigeria depends on the collective determination of citizens to build a society founded on justice, equity, and equal opportunities.
He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Democracy Day to renew their hope in a better future, expressing optimism that a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive society can be achieved through collective effort and responsible leadership.
Chief Opah prayed God to continue blessing Abia State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the nation commemorates another Democracy Day.
