2027: Ikwuano Women Unite, Declare Massive Support for Emeka Atuma’s Senate Bid

It was a dramatic display of solidarity and political momentum on Friday, September 25, 2026, as the premises of Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma were flooded with excitement when the entire women executive leadership of the four clans in Ikwuano, cutting across party lines, came out in a powerful show of support for the APC senatorial candidate and other APC candidates in the state, including the party’s presidential flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The women, led by their clan leaders — Mrs. Chioma Ibelachi of Ibere Clan, Mrs. Charity Enyinnaya of Oloko Clan, Mrs. Ihuoma Ukpabi of Ariam Usaka Clan, Chief Mrs. Chibuzo Akoma of Oboro Clan, and Mrs. Franciska Osuwa — said their endorsement was driven by a collective desire for meaningful development across the Ikwuano clans.

After a thorough assessment of the candidates in the senatorial contest, the women said they had reached a unanimous conclusion to throw their weight behind Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, describing him as a man who is truly “tested and trusted.”
They praised Atuma’s track record, recalling his years of service while representing Ikwuano/Umuahia at the House of Representatives, where, according to them, he demonstrated uncommon capacity, leadership, and commitment to the development of the people. They further applauded his humility and special respect for women, insisting that Ikwuano women would have no cause for regret if he is elected to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a further show of determination, the women vowed to mobilize their members across the clans and extend their campaign efforts to other women’s groups across the local government areas of Abia Central, with the clear mission of delivering victory for Emeka Atuma in the coming elections.

Responding, Atuma expressed deep appreciation to the women for their sacrifice and show of loyalty, describing their support as a bold declaration for a better Abia Central Senatorial Zone. He noted that leadership anchored on the fear of God would remain the guiding principle of the mission.
Atuma also urged the women to prepare for the task ahead, assuring them that under his watch, Abia Central would give priority attention to Ikwuano women.

The event was attended by the Director General of the Emeka Atuma Campaign Organisation, Hon. Chidi Nwosu; Dr. Patrick Ikechi; Major Emmanuel Awa; and other prominent members of the campaign council.
