The All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State Chapter, has disowned a statement purportedly issued by its State Youth Leader calling for the suspension of the activities of the City Boys Movement in the state.

The party, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, said the purported directive was issued without the authorization or consent of the State Chairman and without the knowledge or approval of the State Working Committee (SWC).

According to the statement, the purported directive was therefore not an official position of the APC leadership in Abia State and should be disregarded by party members, supporters and affiliated groups.

The party explained that it remains in harmony and partnership with the leadership of the City Boys Movement, as well as other support groups and political structures across the state, in pursuit of victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The Abia APC leadership also cautioned the State Youth Leader against taking unauthorized actions or issuing statements capable of creating an impression of disunity, causing dis-affection or undermining the collective efforts of the party.

The party urged all members and supporters to remain committed to decisions and directives duly issued by the appropriate organs of the APC, stressing that its leadership remains focused on maintaining unity, discipline and cooperation among members, support groups and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.

The development comes amid efforts by the party to strengthen its structures and coordinate various support groups and political formations towards its electoral objectives in Abia State.
