Emeka Atuma Wins APC Abia Central Senatorial Primary with 36,935 Votes
Hon Emeka Atuma has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Abia Central Senatorial District after polling the highest number of votes in the exercise.
The senatorial collation officer for APC Abia Central, Barrister Thomas Nkoro, announced the result at the end of the collation process conducted alongside local government collation officers from the six local government areas in the district.
Announcing the results, Barrister Nkoro stated that Senator Nkechi Nwogu scored 11,451 votes, while former member of the House of Representatives, Sam Onuigbo, polled 5,833 votes.
According to him, Hon. Emeka Atuma secured a total of 36,935 votes to defeat other contenders and emerge winner of the APC senatorial primary election for Abia Central Senatorial District.
Barrister Nkoro thereafter declared Hon. Emeka Atuma the duly elected APC candidate for the 2027 Abia Central Senatorial election.
The primary election witnessed the participation of party delegates and officials across the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
