Withdraw Your 5th Term Bid To House Of Reps, Advance To Senate Or Presidency-Nzeanochie To Onyejeocha
A foreign based female candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for the 2023 House of Representatives election for Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Constituency, Barr Favour Nzeanochie, has urged the serving member Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to withdraw from contesting re-election for the fifth term.
Hon Onyejeocha who is the Deputy Whip of the House , if re-elected in 2023 for another four years, will altogether represent the Constituency for 20 years of five terms.
Nzeanochie who spoke yesterday to Newsmen, urged Hon Onyejeocha to rather advance to the Senate or the Presidency, stressing that her not withdrawing from the House of Representatives contest would not only create the impression that there are no capable persons especially women to succeed her.
Mrs Nzeanochie who was last week given the ADC Flag by the State Chairman, Elder Obioma Onwukaike as the party’s candidate, stated that after serving for four succeeding terms of sixteen years, she has nothing more to do for the Constituency.
Mrs Nzeanochie also pointed out that advancing to the Senate or presidency would make Onyejeocha a progressive politician and not a redundant one, just as it will pave the way for new persons like her qualified self ( Nzeanochie ) to go and make their own contributions to the development of the constituency.
She lamented that in spite of Hon Onyejeocha’s long fifteen years in the House and as member of the ruling APC at federal level, she could not attract government and investors to exploit the over twenty one (21) various mineral deposits and other natural resources endowed the Constituency.
According to the hopeful candidate, the Constituency has large Limestone deposits for Cement, Salt, Clay, Zinc, Cashew among others, which companies like Dangote Groups etc can be attracted to establish factories.
She expressed worry over the crime waves in the Constituency, from armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom, among others, which she said not only scares people from visiting the Constituency including potential investors and declared that with her international connections , having lived, worked and schooled abroad, she will do the needful, if elected into the House of Representatives, to change the narratives for better.
Canvassing support for her aspiration and the ADC which has Bishop Sunday Onuoha as the state governorship candidate, Nzeanochie assured the party members and constituents who trooped out in solidarity for her, of effective representation and described ADC as an ideal national political party.
