Suspension For Anti-party Activities:PDP Isuamawu Ward 4 Disciplinary Committee Stands on Its Recommendations
PDP Isuamawu Ward 4 Disciplinary Committee remains unwavering in its recommendation for the sack of some members for anti-party activities and other infractions.
Under normal circumstances, the committee would have disregarded the threats to the lives of the committee Chairman, Elder Goddy Nnorom and some other members from a particular individual who was recommended for suspension for anti-party activities. However, the committee stands firm in its position, stating that its recommendations were made impartially and based solely on the available facts.
Emmanuel Ibeagbulam was recommended for suspension due to his involvement in anti-party activities, which he has publicly admitted and captured on various audio recordings but has refused to submit a resignation letter to the party. If Ibeagbulam had done the needful by submission of of resignation letter there wouldn’t be any need to recommend his suspension. The committee has provided evidence to the party, in accordance with Section 58 (1)(e) of the 2017 Constitution of the PDP (as amended), which prohibits such actions. Section 59(1)(d) of the same constitution outlines the penalty for this breach, and the committee’s recommendation reflects this.
Additionally, complaints from other members of Isuamawu Ward 4 were brought before the 7-member disciplinary committee. These complaints included, among other matters, the sponsorship of members of other political parties to become PDP Ward 4 executives and the appointment of a man as ward women leader. After thorough investigation, various recommendations were submitted to the party for appropriate action against about 6 members of ward 4 PDP.
Chief Emmanuel Ibeagbulam has since resorted to issuing life threats against committee members. The committee has substantial evidence supporting its decision regarding Chief Ibeagbulam. Should he disagree, it is advisable for him to seek redress through the party.
Ultimately, it is Chief Ibeagbulam’s right to choose his political affiliation, just as it is the PDP’s right to suspend members found guilty of anti-party activities. The committee will be handing over evidence of the life threats to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further action.
Signed
Elder Goddy Nnorom
Chairman PDP Isuamawu
Ward 4 disciplinary committee.
