Report Truth, Not Propaganda- Anyaso Tells Abia Media
A serial entrepreneur and the 2023 Deputy Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Dr Chima Anyaso, has called on media practitioners in Abia to focus on truth in their reporting, urging them to avoid spreading falsehoods, fake news, and unverified information.
Speaking at the 2024 Abia Media Day, Anyaso highlighted the critical role the media plays in shaping the society, stating that people’s actions are often influenced by what they see, hear, or read in the media, calling for accuracy in their reports.
“Your listeners and readers expect much from you. We rely on you to provide us with the news as it is, so it’s important that you are accurate and truthful in your reporting,” Anyaso stated.
Addressing the theme of the event, “Celebrating the Voice of Abia, Empowering the Future of Media,” Anyaso underscored the media’s significant role in governance, encouraging practitioners to be bold in speaking truth to power.
Anyaso also shared his commitment to supporting the Abia media industry, revealing that his passion for its growth motivated him to attend the summit, despite his busy schedule.
He, however, congratulated the media practitioners for the achievements recorded and urged them to continue ensuring accuracy in their reportage, since the public holds high expectations of them.
