PVC Collection: APGA Candidate Calls On INEC To Intensify Efforts In Distributing Cards To Electorates

As the 2023 General Elections continue to gain momentum, the House of Representatives candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu, has expressed worry over the difficulty associated in the Ongoing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collection, calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission to intensify efforts in ensuring the PVCs are distributed to voters.

In a media chat with Newsmen in Umuahia, Abarikwu stated that he has been notified by some of his constituents the rigorous process in getting their PVCs and wondered why the process of collection would be that tedious.

He said the Permanent Voter Cards is the power of the electorates to vote in their choice candidates, therefore, the INEC, whose duty is to distribute these cards, should ensure they are adequately distributed to the rightful owners.

Abarikwu disclosed that perhaps if these cards were incidentally transferred to a wrong location, “It is incumbent upon the INEC to redirect them,so that voters who registered under a given location could access their cards in that particular location”.

He said he is unskeptical about the electoral process as the Federal Government has given assurance that the votes would be cast and counted.

Continuing, the APGA House of Representatives candidate, noted that the new electoral law actually gave way for grassroot campaigns, adding that he has been engaging in grassroot mobilization, sharing his vision to his constituents.

He said that with the new electoral law, voters would be able to elect their leaders for the first time, expressing optimism that the electorates would find him honourable, credible and accountable to vote for him.

While calling on Abians, especially the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency to cast their votes for candidates that have their interest at heart, advised them to shun money politics, tribal and religious sentiments, capable of impeding their chances of voting in credibility, competence and integrity in the forth coming polls.
