The Labour Party (LP), chairman in Abia State, Hon Ceekay Igara, has revealed that the new administration in the state, under Dr Alex Otti, will set the template for other successive governments to follow.
The LP Chairman who disclosed this in a telephone interview with our Correspondent, said as a matter of fact, the Otti’s government will be a reference point, where governments after him, would take a cue from.
According to him, the new administration in Abia would be characterized by massive developmental growth, with every sector of the economy being revived.
As a financial and economy expert, Igara noted that Governor Alex Otti would alleviate poverty by fostering opportunities for job creation, achieve high economic growth through better mobilisation and prudent use of economic resources. He would as well, build a strong economy by encouraging private sector participation and also ensure good governance by transforming development administration into a service and result-oriented system.
He stated that Abia would experience a revamp, such that successive governments in the state would be adjudged by the Otti’s tenure.
“We are not coming to assess previous government but to set the standard for other governments to follow. We will strictly focus on governance. While the citizens will be the judge.
“Abians can judge both past and present administrations based on job creation, salary/pension payment, urban renewal, infrastructure, among others.
“We assure Abians that this new government will be a roller-coaster ride,all we ask is their support”.
