Gov Otti To Flag-Off Major Road Projects In Umuahia,As Ex President,Obasanjo Prepares To Commission 45Km Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba Road
As part of ongoing efforts to transform Abia State’s road infrastructure, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, is set to flag-off two major road projects in Umuahia on Tuesday, March 25. This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing urban mobility and modernizing the state’s transportation network.
The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, made the announcement while addressing journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council Meeting, presided over by the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR. The upcoming projects are expected to significantly ease traffic flow, improve access to key areas, and boost economic activities within the state capital.
In addition to these new road developments, Abia State is gearing up for a historic visit by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on April 2.
The elder statesman is expected to commission the newly constructed 45-kilometre Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Alayi-Abiriba road, a critical artery linking multiple communities. The road, which has been equipped with solar-powered street lights, is set to enhance both safety and aesthetics, ensuring a well-lit and secure passage for commuters at night.
The completion of this major road project, along with the new ones set to commence, reflects the state government’s aggressive push for infrastructural renewal.
