Forum of Former Deputy Governors Mourns Late Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Ewhrudjakpo

The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has expressed condolences to the Government and people of Bayelsa State following the death of the state’s Deputy Governor, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, describing his passing as a significant loss to public service in Nigeria.

 

In a condolence letter addressed to Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, the forum said it shared in the grief of the state, the Ewhrudjakpo family and colleagues across the country, noting that the late deputy governor’s death had cast a pall over Bayelsa and beyond.

 

The message, issued on behalf of the forum’s Board of Trustees, National Executive Committee and members nationwide, praised Ewhrudjakpo’s commitment to governance and unity. It recalled his role as an associate member of the forum and highlighted his active participation in its activities until his death.

 

According to the forum, Ewhrudjakpo was widely regarded as a dedicated public servant whose career reflected a deep sense of responsibility to Bayelsa State and the Nigerian federation. His contributions, it said, extended beyond his official duties, earning him respect among peers and within the forum.

 

The condolence letter was jointly signed by the forum’s National Chairman, Dr. Chris Akomas, Deputy National Chairman North, Muktar Anka, and Deputy National Chairman South, Hazeem Gbolarumi. The signatories expressed solidarity with the Bayelsa State Government, the bereaved family and all those affected by the loss.

 

The forum offered prayers for the repose of Ewhrudjakpo’s soul and called for strength and comfort for the government and people of Bayelsa State as they mourn a leader described as irreplaceable.

Ewhrudjakpo remained an active associate member of the forum until his death, maintaining close ties with former and serving leaders across the country.
