Over 10,000 Abians have benefitted from the 2023 free Medical Outreach organised by Connak Foundation in partnership with Faith Care International.
The week long medical outreach which featured services ranging from free medical consultation, surgeries, dental care, laboratory tests,hernia repair, eye care, among others, had Abians jubllating and expressing appreciation to the Connak Foundation and the Faith Care for putting up such a life touching program.
Interacting with newsmen, the Founder of Connak foundation, Mr Ken Ukeagu, said the medical outreach was basically organised to touch and change lives, as this has been his drive over the years,promising not to relent in giving back to humanity.
According to him, he said he is excited and joyful seeing Abians get relieved of their health worries, stressing that their excitement is enough encouragement for him, promising not to relent.
Ukeagu noted that he would continue to give back to the society as long as he is alive,”I will not get tired of touching lives, i will continue as long as i live”.
Responding to what Abians should be expecting next from the foundation, he added that the foundation is relying on God for the next step to take,stressing that they would not stop in helping humanity.
Also, the Representative of Faith Care USA and a Physiotherapist, Tony Tran, said the Faith Care International, partnered with the Connak Foundation, based on the huge medical needs of the people, adding that the organization is geared towards integrating Faith and Health Care for the betterment of humanity.
Tran,however, expressed happiness over the positive response of Abians towards the medical outreach,promising that the founder of the Faith care, Peter Schnatz, would continue in its partnership in salvaging the health condition of Nigerians.
The Chief Executive Officer of Connak Foundation, Mrs Emeka Sunday Caro, while giving a brief history of the foundation, said the Connak Foundation was set up basically to create opportunities, as well as, changing lives.
According to her, the foundation has a scholarship scheme, ICT training program, Entrepreneurship training and free medical outreach.
She disclosed that every year, the foundation run these programs, adding that for the medical outreach, it was halted in 2019, due to the outbreak of Covid 19.
The CEO, however, expressed optimism that the record of the 2023 medical outreach would surpass that of 2019, because of its huge partnership with the Faith Care International, calling on Abians to leverage on the opportunity.
Another Partner who spoke with newsmen, Cordelia Uboma, said the target is to get sick people treated, as their are medical experts on ground to tackle all medical needs. She said they expect to reach out to a large number of people, while expressing happiness that such relief is coming to Abians at a time, where people could hardly afford medical treatment, due to the harsh economy system.
Uboma further enjoined people to eat right for the benefit of having a sound health.
A minister of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev Ndubuisi Ogbonna Michael, commended the works of the Connak Foundation in saving humanity, urging more people to take leaf from them.
One of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach, Florence Innocent,a petty trader, thanked the Connak Foundation/Faith Care, for the free treatment,which she said she couldn’t have afford ordinarily, urging them not to relent in their good works.
Recall, that the Connak Foundation started ten years ago, with the vision of changing the fortunes of Nigerians through its Education, Entrepreneurship, ICT and Medical outreach programmes.
