APGA Commends Ikwechegh, Says He Is A True Democrat
Following a reported assault on an Abuja based cab driver by the member representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Alex Ikwechegh, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has commended his humane action, describing him as a true democrat.
In an interaction with newsmen, the Abia State chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA),Amb Sunday Onukwubiri, said the party was not in a haste to issue any statement condemning the actions of the House member because they were confused about the act.
According to the State chairman, they have known Ikwechegh as a humble and lovely representative, whose love for humanity transverse beyond the constituents he is representing.
Onukwubiri stated that Hon Alex Ikwechegh has embarked on numerous projects across the Aba North/South Federal Constituency, ranging from the building and renovation of classroom blocks, distribution of relief materials, empowerment, scholarship,as well as, employment.
He added that the lawmaker’s intervention projects have endeared him more to the people, who are ready to re-elect him back to the National Assembly and regretted the reported assault, which he attributed to the handiwork of the devil.
The APGA chairman further disclosed that for Hon Ikwechegh to apologize to the cab driver, his family, constituents and Nigerians at large, goes to show that the lawmaker is a man of peace and a humble personality, who only acted on impulse. “He is human. No human is infallible. I appreciate and commend him for apologizing.
“You see how the whole matter went. The litigation has been withdrawn. This shows that God was behind it. Who knows ,it might be a way God wants to use to connect the driver with Hon Ikwechegh “.
The APGA Chieftain, however, commended the Correspondent chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Abia, for not joining in the media stunt, but chose to get the true position of the matter, commending them for their professionalism and holding dearly the ethics of their profession, while urging the Lawmaker to continue his robust representation and attraction of democratic dividends to the people of Aba.
