Abia PDP Swears In Newly Elected Officers

The State Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),in Abia State, has been inaugurated, following the administration of oath of office on the newly elected officers.

 

The inauguration which took place at the Party Secretariat in Umuahia, had the Legal Adviser of the party, Barr Ukpai Ukairo, taking the leaders through their oath of allegiance, making them officially authorized to assume their roles.

Responding shortly after the swearing in, the Leader of the Party, Elder Abraham Amah, reiterated that the new administration would usher a new dawn for the Party in the state, repositioning the party to return to power come 2027.

 

Amah said the new team is bent on clinching power back and disclosed their willingness to take the sacrifices that may come with it.

The new party chairman while unveiling their agenda for the party, said they would be unveiling a shadow government that would be saddled with the responsibility of holding the government in power accountable. He said they would ensure the government delivers nothing short of good governance.

 

He equally disclosed that in coming weeks, the party institute the Elders Council of the party, with Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, leading the forum, stressing the importance of all arms of the party to be fully rejuvenated to recover their mandate of taking over power in 2027.

According to him, he has interfaced with a good number of people who exited the party and disclosed their willingness to rejoin the party, adding that those who contested with him,have equally sent their messages of congratulations, which he said, signifies a united party that is focused on a common goal.

 

Meanwhile, the new Abia PDP leader said they would be launching the “Abia Agenda”, a Magazine that would serve as the mouth piece of the party.

 

He hinted that the party would be holding a thanksgiving service with members of the party across the 17 Local Government Areas and the 184 wards coming together to give thanks to God for a relaunch of the party.

Amah further harped on the need to reconcile all aggrieved members, with the sole aim of bringing them back to the party, expressing optimism that in the coming days, Abia PDP would be at its best.

Members of the State Working Committee who were equally sworn in alongside Elder Abraham Amah,include, Chief Gabriel Elendu,Vice chairman, Abia North, Patrick Onwuka,Vice Chairman,Abia Central, Chief Chinyere Onuoha(Aka dimkpa Ugwunnagbo) Deputy Chairman, Mbanaso Innocent, State Auditor, Fidelia Ekejianya, Women’s Leader, Chief Ndubuisi Enyioko, State Youth Leader, Chief Eric Ikwuagwu,State Publicity Secretary, Hon Prince Obinna Okey, State Organizing Secretary, Chief Peter Nwaokonko,State Secretary and Barr Chizuru Kanu, Treasurer.

Others were, Enyinnaya Apollos,Vice chairman,Abia South and Mr Ken Madubuike,State Financial Secretary.

In an interview, the Vice Chairman, Abia Central, Patrick Onwuka, said their leadership would take the party back to the people, emphasizing on the reconciliation of members,so the party can be formidable to return to its winning ways.

Also, the Publicity Secretary, Chief Eric Ikwuagwu, pledged to provide a robust and constructive criticism to the ruling party, adding that his tenure as the spokesman of the party would shift engagement from mere altercations to holding the government accountable with facts and figures.
