ABHA: Hon Kalu Felicitates Abia Deputy Speaker As He Offers Thanks To God
The Majority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Okoro Uchenna Kalu, today, joined other colleagues of the 8th Abia Assembly to felicitate with the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Austin Meregini,who offered thanks to God for a successful inauguration as the member representing Umuahia East State Constituency and as well, his emergence as the Deputy Speaker of the Abia Assembly.
At the thanksgiving service which was held at St. Anns Catholic Church Ahieke Ndume, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, the Majority Leader, congratulated Rt.Hon Meregini, describing his emergence as a Principal officer of the House, as divine.
According to Hon Kalu, he said the Deputy Speaker is a man of Grace, whose intellect and competence has always distinguished him.
He also described the Deputy Speaker as an intelligent and articulated fellow, who would make make great input in the House, as well as Laws that would be of benefit to Ndume community in particular and Abia at large, expressing confidence that he would make his constituents and Abians proud.
The Majority Leader while praying God to guide the Deputy Speaker in his new assignment, urged the Church to continue in their support for the Lawmaker through prayers, enjoining the people of Umuahia East State Constituency and the state, to give their unflinching support,so that the Lawmaker could succeed.
Hon Kalu further accompanied the Deputy Speaker to the reception ceremony that took place at Ibeama Community Primary School field, Umuana, Ndume, with the Governor of the State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the Member representing Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ginger Onwusibe, Honourable members of the Abia House of Assembly, Leaders of the Labour party,Traditional Rulers and other government functionaries, in attendance.
