Leaders at all levels have been urged to prioritize policies that promote inclusion, quality education, and child protection.

The APC Senatorial Candidate for Abia South Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, who disclosed this today, congratulated Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.

In a Press statement, signed by his Spokesperson George Egejuru, and made available to newsmen today, the Lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, described children as the hope and future of the nation, stressing that every child deserves equal opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed regardless of background, gender, or social status.

Reflecting on the 2026 Children’s Day theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” the former Chairman, Obingwa LGA, Abia state, maintained that the theme aptly highlights the urgent need to build a society where no child is left behind.

According to him, government, parents, teachers, religious institutions, and community leaders must work together to ensure that Nigerian children enjoy access to quality education, healthcare, protection, and a safe environment conducive for learning and development.

The further expressed concern over the rising cases of child abuse, child labour, trafficking, and the growing number of out-of-school children across the country, noting that the future of Nigeria depends greatly on how the present generation of children are nurtured and protected.

He called for increased investment in education and youth development programmes, adding that empowering children today would guarantee a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria tomorrow.

He wished Nigerian children, a joyful and memorable Children’s Day celebration.
