Senatorial Candidate Erondu Jnr, Hails Tinubu’s Emergence as APC Presidential Candidate
The APC Senatorial Candidate for Abia South Senatorial District, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 General Elections following his emphatic victory at the party’s presidential primary election.
In a statement signed by his Spokesperson, George Egejuru, and made available to newsmen today, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly described President Tinubu’s emergence as a reflection of the overwhelming confidence, trust and support he enjoys among APC members and Nigerians at large.
Erondu Jnr stated that President Tinubu’s landslide victory in the primary election further demonstrates the unity, strength and internal democratic culture of the APC, noting that the peaceful and transparent conduct of the exercise has once again distinguished the ruling party from others.
The former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area commended President Tinubu for submitting himself to a credible democratic process despite being the nation’s leader and leader of the ruling party, stressing that such action further reinforces his commitment to democratic principles and good governance.
According to him, the outcome of the primary election is a strong indication that Nigerians remain confident in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his administration’s efforts at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.
The Uhie-born legislator also applauded party faithful across the federation for their maturity, discipline and commitment throughout the exercise, while commending the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, and other APC leaders for ensuring a peaceful, smooth and credible process in Abia State.
President Tinubu defeated his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, with 10,999,162 votes, while Osifo polled 16,503 votes and subsequently accepted defeat.
Erondu Jnr expressed optimism that the APC would record greater victories in the 2027 general elections, urging party members to remain united and committed to the collective vision of moving Nigeria forward.
