Abia Central Should Expect More Dividends of Democracy – Akobundu Assures, As He Cliches ADC Ticket
The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu (Rtd), has assured constituents of more dividends of democracy, following his emergence as the consensus candidate for the district during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primaries.
Akobundu gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in Umuahia shortly after the conclusion of the party primaries. He stated that his manifesto was anchored on the mandate given to him by the people to provide quality representation through effective legislation, attraction of development projects, oversight functions, and people-oriented representation.
The senator described his adoption as a consensus candidate as a demonstration of the confidence and trust the people have in his leadership and representation. He noted that the support he enjoys is based on the visible projects and achievements already delivered across the district, adding that he remains prepared to face the electoral contest and emerge victorious.
He urged supporters and constituents to remain hopeful and steadfast, assuring them that the achievements recorded so far were only a glimpse of greater developments ahead.
Also speaking, the ADC candidate for Isialangwa North State Constituency, Benneth Emeruwa, said his manifesto was focused on good governance and restoring pride to both Abia State and Nigeria through effective representation and service delivery.
Similarly, the ADC candidate for Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Ejim Chibuzor, pledged to deliver on the mandate entrusted to him by the people. He promised to work towards moving Abia State to a higher level of development while tackling insecurity through purposeful legislation and governance.
For Isialangwa South State Constituency, Kenya Annaba, founder of Piper Foundation, promised to make meaningful impacts in the constituency. He highlighted his scholarship programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, and involvement in major capital projects as evidence of his commitment to community development.
The ADC candidate for Umuahia Central State Constituency, Godslight Mbakwe, appreciated Senator Akobundu for giving him the opportunity to serve under the platform of the ADC. He assured the people of his readiness to serve diligently and bring positive transformation to the constituency, expressing confidence in the party’s chances at the polls.
Also, the ADC candidate for Arochukwu State Constituency, Francess Ogbonnaya, pledged to focus on legislation that would improve the welfare of the people. She noted that she had already embarked on several empowerment programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents in the area.
In the same vein, Tabitha maintained that after 24 years of representation by the Abam Clan in the State Assembly, fairness and equity demanded that the position be rotated to other parts of Arochukwu Local Government Area.
