2023: Politics That Will Save Abia, Should Be Politics Of Selflessness – Abarikwu Tells Umuahia North Electorates

As the 2023 election continues to gain momentum, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu, has revealed that only selfless politics can bail Abia out of its present political decadence.

He said that Abia could be salvaged from its current state of underdevelopment,if only selfless leaders are given the front stage in politics.

Engr Abarikwu who stated this in a meeting with the APGA Umuahia North Local Government executive, Ward Chairmen, Pro group Cordinators,as well as Ogbonna Abarikwu Women, at the Ogbonna Abarikwu Campaign Office in Umuahia, said the electorates are the power base, therefore they should use their power( PVC), to elect leaders that are selfless,so that Abia can be salvaged from the hands of selfish leaders who have relegated the state to the background, giving no room for developmental strides.

He urged the leaders of the party in Umuahia North to remain resolute and undeterred in their campaign for him to emerge as a federal lawmaker, stating that his victory come February 25th,2023, would herald a new beginning in Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, adding that he would use Ikwuano/Umuahia as an example of what good governance should be.

Meanwhile, he urged the party stakeholders to lessen the praise singing until their goal is realized , enjoining them to take his campaign to their various families and immediate environment, educating and informing their people on the urgent need to change the narrative in Abia and Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency in particular, while lamenting the moribund state of some health care facilities, industries, infrastructure,as well as the non payment of workers’ salaries and pensions in the state.

Earlier, the Director General of the Ogbonna Abarikwu Campaign Council, Mr Anamelechi Osondu, thanked the leaders for coming, stressing that the meeting would further strengthen their pursuit for good governance ,as well as, create a unifying force to achieve their goal of bringing on board Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu as the next Lawmaker for Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency.

Highpoint of the event was the distribution of bags of rice, groundnut oil,other cudiments, cash gifts, as well as campaign materials.
