Nigeria Enters Business Agreement With Tunisia To Enhance Economic Growth

At a time the nation is faced with economic challenges, the Tunisia Business Council has entered into a bilateral trade agreement with Nigeria,to explore opportunities for economic cooperation and reforms.

 

 

The twenty member delegation comprising business leaders, experts stormed the FCT, Abuja,to harmonize and strengthen the bilateral ties between Nigeria and Tunisia and as well, support Nigeria’s economic growth.

 

The team led by the President of Economic Forum,Tunisia, Anis Jaziri, said they are committed to share expertise and best practices to boost Nigeria’s economy.

 

 

In an interview with Journalists, Anis Jaziri, said the delegation is interested in various sectors and they would engage with Nigeria stakeholders, including government officials, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, among others, to identify possible areas of collaboration and investment.

 

He was delighted that the Tunisian team’s visit marked their first-ever trip to Nigeria,with the purpose to create opportunity between the two countries.

 

 

 

According to President Jaziri, Tunisia boasts a wide range of technical expertise and strengths, and the visit is poised to unlock fresh opportunities for mutual growth and collaboration, enabling both nations to broaden their scope and potential.

 

“We’ll be having Tunisia and Nigeria forum meeting with partners. Nigeria has one of the biggest economies in Africa. This visit will form a big collaboration”.

 

 

 

The President of the Tunisia Economic Forum, revealed that they have assembled a team of specialists from key sectors, including ICT, construction and chemical engineering, renewable energy professionals, among others.

 

 

He said their stakeholders are hopeful that the multi-lateral mission in Nigeria would be seen as a significant step in deepening the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Tunisia with the focus on development and mutual benefits.

Also, the Head of Tunisia Business in Africa, Amb Bolaji Akinremi, said the trade mission has great prospect for enhancing economic collaborations between the two countries, stressing that Tunisia and Nigeria share alot of cultural and religious affinities.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the Tunisia Ambassador to Nigeria, Moshen Antit, said the team is looking forward to coordinating and putting mechanism in place to reach a successful economic cooperation, synonymous with good fate and contracted on a win/win basis.

 

 

Reacting to the development, the President, Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(UCCIMA),Chief Chidi Nkem-Aruoma, who was part of the delegation, praised the collaboration between Nigeria and Tunisia,which he said would go a long way in strengthening businesses in Nigeria, creating opportunities for smaller businesses to thrive.

 

In buttressing the business relationship,he said, Umuahia Chamber of Commerce signed a bilateral agreement with the Tunisian delegation to promote trade, sports, education, energy, transport, real estate development and tourism.

 

 

 

Highpoint of the ceremony was the signing of the agreement witnessed by dignitaries, including, the Tunisian Ambassador to Nigeria, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Investment, the President of the ABA Chamber of Commerce, and Ambassador Bolaji Akinremi,who represented the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.
