Hon Ubani Slams Opposition Over Baseless Propaganda Against Governor Alex Otti
Abia State-born politician, business man and agro-preneur, Hon. Dannie “Manja” Ubani, has once again taken a swipe at the opposition in the state, condemning what he describes as their desperate attempts to misrepresent Governor Alex Otti.
Taking to social media, Hon. Ubani sets the record straight, dismantling the claims against the governor and highlighting Otti’s deep-rooted national influence, professional accomplishments, and unwavering commitment to Abia’s progress.
In his strongly worded post, he wrote:
“Ordinarily, this puerile propaganda as coming from barren dark souls does not deserve any response but for the volatility of our nation and the retrogressive nature of our politics as a country.”
He went on to emphasize Governor Otti’s pan-Nigerian identity, tracing his educational and professional journey across different parts of the country:
“Gov. Alex Otti is a pan-Nigerian nationalist of Igbo extraction. Born to Igbo missionary parents, Dr. Otti had his university education partly in Port Harcourt (South-South) and Lagos (South-West). He spent a considerable part of his professional life in Lagos, where he rose to the peak of his career.”
Hon. Ubani further debunked attempts to portray Otti as a sectional leader, pointing out his strong relationships with key figures across Nigeria, including Northern elites:
“He has cultivated lifelong acquaintances across the length and breadth of this nation, mostly prominent Northerners like His Eminence, Emir Sanusi, whom he fondly refers to as ‘my brother’.”
Highlighting Otti’s business footprint in major Nigerian cities, he stated:
“Otti has a wide range of business interests that are formidably entrenched in Lagos, Abuja, and Kano.”
Taking a personal angle, Hon. Ubani shared his own experience as a farmer and agro-preneur, emphasizing how Governor Otti’s support has significantly impacted his business:
“Yours sincerely, penning these thoughts here, is a farmer and agropreneur. I am writing this post from one of the most remote villages in Benue State, where I have an agro-processing plant.
“Down home in Abia State, I own the largest livestock farm, with cow and pig rearing as our major livestock. To grow our farm to its towering height, we have received tremendous support from the person and office of Governor Alex Otti.”
Condemning the opposition’s malicious campaign of calumny, he stressed that Otti’s leadership is inclusive and far from the divisive image being projected by his detractors:
“Gov. Otti, therefore, cannot truly be said to be less Nigerian than any other Nigerian, living or dead. I have gone this far and somewhat personal to buttress the fact that Gov. Otti is not that divisive and parochial leader which the masterminds of this poorly construed propaganda are portraying.”
Hon. Ubani did not hold back in exposing the true motives of Otti’s critics, describing their tactics as nothing more than desperation from a defeated opposition:
“Such vile and infantile propaganda is the extension of the campaign of calumny and pull-him-down machinations of defeated Abia opposition who, for want to pin down the performing people’s Governor, has resorted to mudslinging and outright pedestrian lies.”
He concluded with a strong call to the public, urging them to disregard the falsehoods being spread by disgruntled political forces:
“While the general public should see and treat such poor concoction of lies from the stead of drowning politicians, it should be noted that Gov. Otti is totally sold out to his avowal of making Abia an ideology and even nationality.”
